Welcome

This is a place about the other consciousness. This is the realm we sense magic and mystery. Spirits, ghosts, guardian angels, UFOs, hauntings , near-death experiences , out-of-body experiences, clairvoyance, telepathy, remote viewing , mediums, EVP [electronic voice phenomenon], reincarnations and any psychic phenomenon.

There is as much an unquenchable thirst and passion about the other worlds as there are skeptics equally fiery in debunking the unexplained and supernatural. But it is one thing to talk about it and an another to experience it . Even to hear from someone trustworthy relating their encounter can send shivers down the spine or create waves of deep peace and joy in our hearts.

"What's it all about, Alfie?", as the song goes. Ultimately all quests to understand the other realities betray a yearning to fathom the mystery of life itself. What will we be after we die?. Is there an afterlife?. Shall I be plucking the strings of my harp, singing hymns in heaven or or visiting the 18 levels in Hell?. What is the meaning of it all?. To know something of the beyond is a gain in our search for the significance of man.

This blog hopes to gather truthful anecdotes from credible witnesses starting from the people in Malaysia with its varied religious diversity. But everyone from anywhere is invited. And I also welcome opinions and beliefs from skeptics and fans alike.

I hope you can share with everyone your experience and conviction of the other dimensions.

The Stagnant Bird

I was on the way to Klang through Kesas Highway with my family, excluding my eldest sister, to have dinner with my grandmother. As usual, in the evening, the traffic was smooth all the way except at the exit to Klang where it was a bit of a jam. So while the car was at a crawl around 100m from the traffic lights, I looked out of the window from where I sat [I usually sat on the left side and I cannot do things in car or I"ll get car sick] and saw this particular bird flying in mid-air.

Flying in mid-air? I wasn't sure at first but after a full minute or so, I was sure the bird was not moving an inch forward, downward or up.It was just hanging in mid-air as if it was a fake. I quickly called my mother who was doing her "daily Sudoku" to look out the window. She stared at it for a while and said, " That's just some high tech stuff or maybe it's the electromagnetic field around the area which is affecting the flight of the bird."

Yes, there were a few electrical cables but I don't think any electro-magnetic field can freeze anything in mid-air just like that. My elder sister was driving [ and she couldn't care less about was I said ] while my dad was reading the newspaper.

So, I called out to my younger brother who was playing his hand phone.  He looked at it for awhile, said something like, "We can earn a lot if we record it and sell it to some television station or something." and continued his game.  Well, that was what a 12 year old boy can say.  I wasn't sure why no one was interested as I was.  The bird even flapped its wings a few times but it just can't seem to go anywhere.  The whole thing lasted for a few 10 minutes before the car finally turned to a right and I looked back once more before I lost sight of the bird.

Believe it or not! Story by an inventor

Cimino-Brescia fistular is a type of vascular access for hemodialysis for chronic kidney patients. It is a surgical connection between an artery and a vein in the forearm. This procedure was invented by Brescia MJ and Cimino JE in 1966 and still is the most effective method [Wikipedia]. Dr. Michael J. Brescia and Dr. James E. Cimino released this device to the world without a patent so that every kidney patient can have easy access to this life-saving procedure. Both doctors lost many millions of dollars in giving up the patent but saved tens of thousands of lives! So these are exceptional people. Subsequently Dr. Brescia left medical science to care for the sick and dying, full-time.

The following story is told by Dr. Brescia in the highly recommended book " The Realm Beyond "by Rosemary Altea [2007 published By Rider]. Normally I would treat such an account with skepticism but coming out from a man who shuns fame and wealth to serve the ill and dying, it is hard not to believe.

There was this frail looking young woman found along a New York highway and was brought to Calvary Hospital , a place co-founded by Dr. Brescia for the sick and terminally ill. She was in a hopeless condition. Her skin was infected by fungus, her teeth rotten and infected and worst of all she had HIV. And she could not speak nor respond in any way. There were no identification papers on her.

The hospital took care of her physically while Dr. Brescia tried to tend to her spirit.Everyday Dr. Brescia would talk to her with care and concern but she was "dead", and gave no reply or any response. Weeks went by and one day her condition turned bad. It seemed she would not last any longer. The good doctor stayed with her the whole day, trying to communicate but she was unresponsive. In the evening there was an ice storm and he went home to rest. However he could not sleep thinking about this dying woman. He braved the ice storm and returned to her bedside.

This time she had breathing problems and soon it will be over. Then suddenly she moved a little and her eyes opened slowly. For the first time , in a clear voice she called his name and said, "..I will speak your name to God." Later she died.

A couple of hours after that Dr. Brescia went to look at her dead body one last time but she could not be found. The hospital records show that a Marin Funeral Home took her from the morgue. It was strange. Who had called the Funeral Home? Why would they come so quickly in the midst of an ice storm? It gets more strange. The doctor with the hospital team check for this Marin Funeral Home but there is no such home in the whole of New York !

Who is this woman and where did she go? Many believe she is an angel sent to teach us about dying and living.

A scientific approach to mind over matter

This a fascinating project in scientific investigation. Can attention, intention or thoughts influence matter or our physical world ? If we flip a coin for say , 1000 times, 50% or so of the flips will show heads or tails. In this experiment a" digital toss of a coin" called a Random Number Generator [RNG] is used. These RNGs are placed in 70 locations around the world. On normal days there are statistically normal small deviations but it gets weird on some dates. The RNGs act strangely and huge spikes are seen on graphs during events like Sept. 11, 2001 [ terrorist attack by Al Queda], Dec.26, 2004[Tsunami in SEA] and so on [ more examples are given like OJ Simpson trial are found in the writings of Dean Radin]. Professor Dean Radin who is featured in the following video has written all the scientific experiments on how thoughts or global consciousness can affect the environment. His two bestseller books "The Conscious Universe" and " The Entangled Minds" lay down the scientific treatise.

I saw one in Pantai Remis

I was born and lived most of my teens in Pantai Remis. Pantai Remis is a coastal, fishing village of Perak famous for its delicious fresh seafood. Today it boasts of close to 17,000 residents but 15 years ago when I was sixteen it was much less populated.

My family lived in one of those many rather large wooden houses where the toilet and bathroom were separate constructions away from the house but conveniently nearby. The house was big and many relatives stayed with us. An extended house was later constructed to accommodate all of us. I remembered staying in the newer house.

There was this uncle , my father's younger brother who was ten years older than me who developed some eccentric behavior. I remembered vividly how he used to eat standing up while all the family sat down . But we had ample space and chairs. Other times he would be standing mumbling to himself oblivious to the surroundings or writing indecipherable text on pieces of paper.

As days passed by. this uncle's condition got worse. After consulting doctors but to no avail my family was convinced that this problem was spiritual rather physical . A medium told us that my uncle was possessed by seven female spirits. Without delay , we contacted some Taoist exorcists.

One evening about ten p.m. three Taoist exorcists came. The exorcism was to be done in the front yard of the original house . I was in the bedroom of the other house . Against a dark and silent night the shrieks and wailing were eerie and unnatural as the exorcists performed the rituals. The session continued for quite a while andI had to go the the washroom. The washroom was away from the houses but in-between the two. I ran to it as the screams became louder and louder. Quickly I locked the door. Amidst the uncanny female high pitched cries I looked out the window. Suddenly a green dazzling flash of a ghostly face stared at me through the window panes for a few seconds and vanished! I remember vividly that it was a woman's face with long black hair . It was a picture of agony and distraught.

The next day I heard six of the seven spirits were driven out but alas one was still there. My uncle recovered almost completely. Sadly however there was and still is , a remnant lingering strange behavior in him up till today.

The case for after-life

Lawyer Victor Zammit talks about the reality of afterlife. This truth is believed by many scientific people, according to his decades of objective investigation. Many physicists, psychologists, doctors, scientists, professors and Nobel Laureates are convinced that our consciousness continues once our bodily shell dies. In his book "The case for life after death" he discusses many convincing evidential arguments and facts that prove our existence beyond the grave. [You can download the book free. Go to www.victorzammit.com/ ]

Although unlike the materialistic mindset that denies afterlife most of us in Malaysia believe in the continuance of our souls or spirits, it is good to know that there is an objective and scientific basis for that.

Here Victor shares with us some knowledge for our crossing over.

Strangled by a ghost

In 1989 I was in my late twenties and was traveling often. One afternoon a group of us , made a trip to Golok , a small town in Thailand close to the border of Kelantan. When we reached the border we were pressed for time as the immigration office was due to shut for the day. To our relief we managed to go through . Since it was late and we were tired so we checked into the nearest hotel.
That was a fateful choice.

We took five rooms. The rooms were randomly assigned and I got the last room at the end of the corridor next to the emergency exit leading to a stairway. All of us walked to our rooms but mine was the farthest so I was the last. I took out the room key and was about to open the door when I noticed something or someone out of the corner of my right eye. It was eerie.

She stood there motionless rather pale looking with shoulder length black hair and in a white dress, facing me. My curiosity aroused I turned my gaze slightly to the right to get a clearer view and there she was , expressionless without sparkle or life almost like a corpse, looking intently at me . A cold shiver ran down my spine. With lightning speed I shot into the room. What a weird...thing or person if it is indeed human, I thought to myself.

Well I double locked the room quickly. I felt safe . Suddenly there came a loud knock. My heart skipped a beat. Oh ....what a relief, it was my friend . He wanted to exchange rooms as he wanted my room which has an adjoining door to the next room where his best friend stayed. Well I said no problem it is just another room. Little did I know I would soon be proven wrong.

It was almost 8:30 pm so we decided to go for some food and perhaps some drinks.
But the guy who took over my room and his friend next door were not interested to eat and remained to rest or sleep.

The food was cheap and delicious and the Thai brewery chalked up some impressive sales figures. Close to 1:00 am we strolled or staggered [depending on your point of view] back to the hotel feeling rather jovial and cheerful after a fun night out. Our festive mood turned sombre and we sobered up the instant we saw our friend [the guy who took over my room]sitting at the lobby. He was apparently waiting for us.

He looked ill and pale like coming down with a fever. " What's wrong ...are you sick?" I asked him. His face grew strange and his eyes seemed frightened. For a few seconds he did not speak as if he could not. He was trying to retrieve some energy or strength that he had lost. He took a deep breath and finally spoke. "I was..a a a.. attacked ...by something" he said , his voice shaking. He then related to us that he fell asleep soon after we left and about 10 pm he woke up abruptly . Yes, he was awakened but he could not get up off the bed. He tried and tried but it was getting worse. He felt some weight pressing upon him and he soon saw, in the dim light, a woman in a white dress , hands outstretched just about to strangle him. He mustered all his strength and might to fight for his life. Kicking , punching ...he did whatever he could to free himself. After like struggling for eternity he got lucky and somehow got up , ran out of the room and straight into the lobby . He has waiting for us since. You could tell from his tone of voice and the body signals he did not have a bad dream but met the nightmare of his life!

He stayed in my room until daybreak, though I cannot remember whether he slept or not. The first thing in the morning we checked out and wanted to run away from this spooky place. We met a local Thai friend for breakfast and we told him everything including the woman at the exit door. He then gave us some history of the scary sort, of the hotel or rather the room. According to the local history a lady some years back was brutally murdered in that room. Since then there were many stories of scary encounters with her ghost!

We were at least relived that no physical harm came to our friend albeit a little shaken up emotionally.

Telepathy and DNA

Contrary to traditional science the latest discovery that DNA can put itself together even at a distance is puzzling scientists. In the past science explains this to be chemically impossible. Now it is found that intact double-stranded DNA, Deoxyribonucleic Acid, can recognize similarities in other strands of DNA from a distance and congregate with identical DNA. This telepathic effect in DNA is an amazing revelation to scientists and has great implications in the research to combat aging, cancer and other diseases.

Mind over matter---thoughts can change the world

Lynne McTaggart is the award-winning author of many books including The Field and The Intention Experiment. She is regarded as one of the outstanding spokespersons on consciousness, the new physics, and the practices of conventional and alternative medicine.

The basic idea is that we are all connected in a sea of energy and our thoughts are powerful energies that can change things micro and macro. In these two books she cites many experiments on the power of intentions. Many scientists believe in the reality of an infinitely powerful field of energy and she shows us the evidence. Very interesting to know that our thoughts do matter-we send positive thoughts we do good!

If enough people focussed their thoughts and intentions , their collective consciousness and energies can change the world, improve the environment and replace corrupt government for a better future!. Watch this interview of Lynne McTaggart on thoughts and quantum physics.

I saw one

I am taking a risk writing this for all to read but one has to stick one's neck out if you really did experience something.

A little bit about me . I have always believed in the existence of UFOs and extra-terrestrial entities, even in my younger days. In fact I have always hoped to see and meet one.

Well I got my wish one day. In 70s we were staying in Malacca living in a wooden house on stilts. When I was 18 years old one evening about 5:10 pm. I was climbing up the staircase to get into the front door of the house when I happened to look up. Lo and behold there was a bright light in the sky!

As I calmed down and examined more closely, as far as I could make out it looked like a flying object shaped like a saucer. This UFO had surrounding revoving lights and was hovering in the sky. Out of excitement and also to confirm that it was really happening I called my brothers and sisters take a look. They came out and were amazed.
Eveybody was so fascinated and excited so we called out repeatedly to this object," Friend! Alien! Hello, Hello!,"
We waved at the flying object frantically trying to make contact.
After 10 minutes it shot off at a tremendous speed and vanished.

Well I consider myself to be very lucky to have had a chance to witness a UFO. You can say I had my dream come true.

But I believe I will see one more UFO.

A-level students can study healing and telepathy as part of new syllabus

A-level students can study psychic phenomena as part of a new syllabus.

In the Uk starting from September 2009 schools and colleges will include as an option in its A-levels psychology syllabus
subjects that were once frowned upon like near death experience, psychic healing and talking to the dead. This study is anomalistic psychology.
Anomalistic pyschology is an attempt to understand scientifically extraordinary behaviour or experiences including the paranormal.

From Psychic News ,UK

I believe more and of the academia is warming up to the unexplained including the psychic phenomena. There is an increasing number of professors linking psychic events to quantum mechanics.

The dead communicating through sounds?

STRANGE SOUNDS

It was the year 1969. I was ten years of age and was staying with my siblings and parents in one of those wooden huts along
Thean Teik Road, Penang. Everything was fine for a normal and an active or otherwise brave boy until the landlord died. Soon 18 days later my grandfather followed suit.
I have always slept soundly like a log. But after these deaths I would awakened in the wee hours of the morning, for three or four times a week. While everyone was in dreamland I would wake up to strange sounds coming from the living room. In the frightful darkness and lonely silence I would hear footsteps 'click-clack, click-clack', like sounds made by someone walking with leather shoes. Then I would hear drawers being opened and shut, and chairs being shuffled around. These eerie noises would continue for five minutes or so and then suddenly stopped. Followed soon will be the unmistakable sounds of a walking stick which my deceased granddad often used.
Amidst this confusion I would run to my parents' bed but they would assure me all is fine.
I suspect they heard it too but put up a brave front to comfort me.
Luckily a few months later this strange phenomenon stopped.
Today the vicinity where the hut was situated is no longer recognizable. Now the area is well developed with modern shops and houses.
Today it is a part of Bandar Baru Ayer Hitam.

A loved one communicating from the other realm?

Many people believe that the departed spirit can try to make contact amongst other ways via smells, flickering lights and  animals. Here is a true and fascinating account that happened just recently.

The White Butterfly

In May 2009, when auntie was admitted to Gleneagles Hospital [Ampang], for ovarian surgery with frightful indications that cancer signs were present.  Her husband wanted to stay with her at the hospital.  I volunteered to stay in their apartment to look after their 13 year old son.
My grandmother had been staying with my auntie and uncle for the past ten years and more. She passed away in  June 2008. Auntie was grandma's favourite daughter. The evening after my auntie's operation, I was sitting at the dining table in the apartment.  I saw a white butterfly hovering over the door of the room where grandma used to stay. The white butterfly piqued my curiosity and I kept watching it. Before long, the butterfly flew over and alighted at the table where I sat.I watched it for a while and then found myself uttering, "Grandma, if it is you, please land on my hand." To my amazement, the butterfly flapped its wings and landed on my hand which I rested on the table top.
I am touched and convinced that perhaps grandma's spirit returned during a critical period for my auntie. Auntie's final diagnosis was that she was cancer-free!
I am not sure what to make of this experience but can't help but think something special happened that night.

NASA videos on UFOs

Some spectacular video footages of a UFO encounter was taken by cameras on board the Discovery space shuttle on 15 September, 1991. The video sequence was picked up live by a number of amateurs who were directly monitoring the transmissions.

Olivia Newton-John saw UFO

The 60-year-old performer said that she was "intrigued" by unidentified flying objects and believed that most people in Britain shared her obsession.

Newton-John's co-star in the 1978 teenage movie was John Travolta, who is now a member of the Church of Scientology which holds that aliens populated the Earth millions of years ago.

But the actress's brush with extraterrestrial life was more mundane. She has described how she saw a silver object flying across the sky at "amazing speeds" when she was 15.

"I have seen one when I was very young. It was unidentified and it was
flying," she told The Sun.

"In England most people now think UFOs are possible. Twenty years ago,
how many people would have thought that?"

Newton-John, who grew up in Cambridge, is best known for playing Sandy in the
film musical Grease but also released a string of No 1 albums in the US in
the 1970s.

She married her second husband John Easterling in 2008, four years after her
boyfriend Patrick McDermott vanished on a fishing trip in California.

Earlier this year it was reported that Mr McDermott is alive and living in a
boat off the coast of Mexico.

Actor Patrick Stewart has reported seeing a ghost in one of Britain's most haunted theatres during a performance of Waiting for Godot with Sir Ian McKellen. Patrick described the apparition as a man wearing a beige coat and twill trousers.

Friends believe he saw the ghost of John Baldwin Buckstone, who was actor-manager of the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the mid 19th century and a friend of Charles Dickens. Many believe his ghost haunts this theatre till present day.

The search for aliens

Scientists have been searching for aliens for 50 years
Rex
Scientists have been searching for aliens for 50 years

1. Seti stands for the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence.
2. If intelligent aliens are out there, Dr Seth Shostak, the Seti Institute's senior astronomer, believes they will be "thinking machines". He believes a highly advanced species will be several centuries ahead of us in technological development.
3. Professor Duncan Forgan, an astronomer from Edinburgh University, estimates that between 360 and 38,000 life forms capable of interstellar communications have evolved at some point in the history of our galaxy.
4. In April 2006, Dr Shostak predicted we would find evidence of extraterrestrial life between 2020 and 2025. He believes the best way of bringing them up to speed with the human race is to send them the contents of the internet.
5. So far, no alien signals have been heard, however.
6. It was a September 1959 article in the journal Nature that persuaded the scientific community that, despite the unlikely aliens found in the era's Cold War-inspired UFO films, alien intelligence was more likely than not, so kick-starting the Seti project.
7. The search proper began in 1960, however, with "Project Ozma" at the Green Bank radio telescope in West Virginia, America, directed by a Harvard graduate, Frank Drake.
8. Project Ozma was named after the queen of L Frank Baum's fictional land of Oz, a place which is "very far away, difficult to reach, and populated by strange and exotic beings".
9. The Microsoft founder Paul Allen is funding 42 radio antennae – the Allen Telescope Array in California – at a cost of £16m for the Seti project. It powered up this month.
10. When complete, the Allen Telescope Array will have 350 antenna dishes, each six metres in diameter.
11. At the moment, scientists scavenge time on the world's biggest telescopes to hunt for signals. One of the most significant is the Arecibo Observatory radio telescope in Puerto Rico, made famous by Pierce Brosnan in the final sequence of the James Bond film Golden Eye. It's the world's biggest with a 305m diameter.
12. The most promising radio signal found to date, SHGb02+14a, was detected in 2003 at Arecibo. It was found on three occasions but emanates from between the constellations of Pisces and Aries where there are no stars. It is also a very weak signal. Scientists think it may have been due to an astrological phenomenon or a computer glitch.
13. A set of quickly pulsing signals known as LGM1 (Little Green Men) caused great excitement in 1967. It turned out that they were from a previously unknown class of super-dense rotating neutron stars now known as pulsars. The discovery won Tony Hewish, emeritus professor of radio astronomy at Cambridge University, a Nobel prize.
14. While radio telescopes on Earth are tuned into frequencies that scientists believe are the most likely to be used by intelligent life, there have been many attempts to contact aliens by sending signals and objects from Earth to likely-looking stars.
15. In 1974, astronomers sent crude pictures of humans, our DNA and our solar system to the star cluster M13, which is 21,000 light years away and contains a third of a million stars.
16. In 2001 a "reply" to the 1974 message was found in Hampshire in the form of a crop circle, featuring crude pictures of an alien, modified DNA and an improbable solar system. It is believed to be a hoax.
17. Nasa's attempt to communicate with aliens by playing a Beatles track in February 2008 caused consternation. Some scientists pointed out that making a highly advanced race, which might have exhausted all the resources on their planet, aware of our existence might not be the most sensible thing to do.
18. Now an international agreement is in place preventing any reply to an extraterrestrial signal unless there is agreement that it's a good idea.
19. However, if Einstein's theory is correct that it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, there is no need to worry. It would take extraterrestrial life-forms millennia to reach us, unless they had the technology to cut corners in space by travelling through highly theoretical tunnels called wormholes. "You're not going to see them in person, I think," Dr Shostak said. "To go from here to the nearest star is a project requiring a 100,000-year trip. And that's longer than you're going to want to sit there eating airline food."
20. But maybe they do have wormhole technology. See No 2.
21. The nearest stars likely to have planets are three parsecs away (one parsec equals 3.26 light years, or 19 million million miles) so even if a common language were found, it would take a century to communicate.
22. Seti hit the headlines in 1977 when a volunteer found a strong signal and wrote "Wow!" in the margin of a printout. The "Wow! Signal", as it came to be known, was never found again despite repeated attempts.
23. Frank Drake's Ozma project was originally kept secret as the observatory was government-funded and nobody wanted to let Congress know they were looking for aliens.
24. Nevertheless, Congress pulled the plug in 1993. The project is now funded by private donations.
25. Five million people have joined a scheme organised by the University of California in 1999 in which home computers help sift the millions of Seti readings during their "downtime" after a special screensaver is downloaded. SETI@home is the world's largest supercomputer.
26. SETI@home can do tens to hundreds of billions of operations per second.
27. There are now lots of group-computing projects using the same software as SETI@home, from decoding enigma messages sent in the Second World War to predicting future climates or helping to find a cure for Aids.
28. Searches for other-worldly intelligence also involve looking for signals aliens may have sent us using light waves or infrared as well as radio waves.
29. The Drake equation (N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL) was created by Frank Drake in 1961 to work out how many intelligent civilisations there may be in our galaxy. The values stand for things such as the number of stars and estimated number of planets. The answer varies from 2.31 to 1,000, as many of the values rely on guesswork.
30. Gene Roddenberry used the equation to justify the number of inhabited planets discovered by the crew of the Starship Enterprise in Star Trek.
31. Scientists admit, however, that aliens may already have tried to contact us with a form of communication completely unknown to us – a bit like trying to make contact with a lost tribe in Borneo using TV signals.
32. In 1950, Italian Nobel laureate and nuclear scientist Enrico Fermi stated the Fermi paradox: there's a high probability of alien life but we haven't detected any yet.
33. In the mid-1990s, Seti scientists thought they were on to something when they picked up a signal every evening at 7pm. It turned out to be from a microwave oven used by technicians in the cellar at the Parkes Observatory in Australia. There is now a note on the microwave asking people not to use it while Seti is active.
34. Other false calls have included signals from electronic garage doors, jet airliners, radios, televisions and even the Pioneer space craft. "We found intelligent life," said Richard Davis, a radio astronomer at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, "but it was us."
35. The privately funded Seti Institute in California has an annual budget of $7m. It employs 130 staff and was founded 25 years ago in November.
36. The MoD recorded 394 UFO sightings in the UK in the first eight months of this year.
37. In 1996 only six exoplanets – those outside our solar system – had been found. Now nearly 400 have been discovered. Although none are Earth-like, scientists believe it is just a matter of time before one shows up.
38. Which is why Nasa launched the Kepler telescope in March. It will survey 100,000 Sun-like stars over the next four years, looking for Earth-like planets in the "Goldilocks Zone" – a distance from the Sun that is not too hot and not too cold.
39. Some think early flying saucer stories originated from spottings of experimental Nazi aircraft.
40. In June this year, Seti upgraded its Serendip (Search for Extraterrestrial Radio Emissions from Nearby Developed Intelligent Populations) programme at Arecibo. The first programme listened to 100 channels simultaneously, the new programme can track more than two billion.
41. ET and Close Encounters director Steven Spielberg has been obsessed with the search for life outside our planet since childhood and donates money to Seti.
42. llie Arroway, Jodie Foster's character in the film Contact, finds aliens using the same methods as a Seti radio-wave analysing programme Project Phoenix based in Australia.
43. Those hopeful of so-called "exo-biology" have been encouraged by recent discoveries of the building blocks of life floating around in space. Radio telescopes have picked up the chemical signatures of 150 molecules in interstellar space, including sugar, alcohol and amino acids.
44. The twin Voyager space probes, launched in 1977, carried gold discs containing information about Earth, including recordings of greetings in 54 different human languages, humpback whale song, 117 pictures of Earth and a collection of sounds including music from Mozart to Louis Armstrong. The discs were put together by the Seti advocate Carl Sagan at the request of Nasa. It will be 40,000 years before the discs get anywhere near another planetary system.
45. If aliens do find them, they will need to locate an old vinyl record player. Fortunately, there are instructions and a stylus on the spaceship.
46. In the 1820s the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, below, tried to contact aliens by reflecting sunlight towards planets. He also wanted to cut a giant triangle into the Siberian forest and plant wheat inside to show a geometric object visible from the Moon.
47. Around the same time, the Austrian mathematician Joseph Johann von Littrow proposed digging a circular canal in the Sahara 20 miles in diameter, filling it with paraffin and setting it on fire, thus alerting alien species to our existence.
48. Charles Cros, a French poet and inventor, thought spots of light on Mars and Venus were indicators of civilisations. He tried to convince the French government to build a giant mirror to communicate with the aliens. The lights he saw were probably noctilucent clouds (clouds so high they reflect sunlight at night); the mirror was almost certainly impossible to build.
49. Japan has prepared guidelines on how to handle aliens if they land and a strategy to defend the country from alien attack.
50. Early alien hunters at the 1960 conference at Green Bank, West Virginia, which established Seti as a scientific discipline, called themselves the Order of the Dolphin in honour of John Lilly, who had recently concluded that dolphins were intelligent and pioneered attempts to communicate with them.

Some celebrities that believe in the other possibilities.

Tom Cruise

Cruise, an avid follower of Scientology, told papers: "Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe?

"Millions of stars, and we're supposed to be the only living creatures?

"There are many things out there, we just don't know."

Robbie Williams
He is reportedly obsessed with UFOs and has seen them three times.
He says he also believes the cult of Scientology "exists" and thinks ghosts "are other worlds".

He added: "I was lying on my sun lounger outside at night. Above me was a square thing that passed over my head silently and shot off."

Will Smith
Star of Men In Black believes in UFOs. Will reckoned he caught an extra-terrestrial being flying about whilst out in the car with friends.

John Travolta
He believes humans are exiled aliens called Thetans.

John Lennon
He and his assistant then, Mary Pang, walked out on to the balcony and spotted the UFO.

"It looked like a flattened cone with a brilliant light on top" Mary Pang said.

Mick Jagger
Mick Jagger claims to have seen UFOs. Once in 1968 he sighted an UFO hovering above the site of his concert performance and flew off after a few minutes.

Lost in another world

In the early 90's, I was working as a Fashion Designer in Muar. I used to drive to work from Malacca to Muar everyday until I found a place to stay with a young Christian couple.

After work, I normally drove to a Hindu Temple in town, to pray and had my dinner before going home. The town centre is about 3km away from where I stayed.

One evening, after having my dinner in town, I drove home as usual. While passing a certain spot, I saw a small white shadow passing across the road, right in front of me. I heard a small noise "Tick" and I thought I hit a white cat. I didn't stop to check because that stretch of road was dark. Then I started to wonder :"If I hit a cat, it could have miowed loudly, no?" But there wasn't any noise other than that sound "Tick".

Anyway, while driving, I felt a bit uncomfortable as if someone was behind the seat, a kind of eerie feeling.

Then, I began to realize that the roads which I used each evening looked different. No street lights, no houses nor any buildings in sight, just pitch dark. I wanted to stop and turn back but my hand would not move and I kept driving and felt that I was under control by something. I also felt that I had been driving for a long, long time.

At a distance, I saw some lanterns hanging outside one building. I challenged myself to sway my steering to the left toward that building. I succeeded and stopped in front of it. It was a restaurant and the owner was about to shut the door. I asked her: "Can you please let me know where I am? I want to go back to the xxxx area where I live."

The lady told me:"My God! You are 15km away from where you live."

I took my car and managed to drive home, though I still felt as if someone was watching me from the backseat. I finally reached home but was not in peace because I felt that as if that "someone" was following me where ever I went.

I watched a bit of TV and went to bed. That night, I was awakened by a terrible nightmare. I didn't know if it was a dream or reality. I saw a half-naked dark skinned man without his head was trying to possess me. I got up and turned on the light and not too long after that, it was sunrise.

I then went to work as usual, had my prayers at the Hindu Temple and packed "wonton noodles" home for dinner. When I was at a junction just outside town centre, I looked very carefully before I made a left turn. So, when I began to turn my car, I saw big spot light coming from the right touching my right cheek and the only words that I said to myself :"I am dead, this time."

The next thing I knew is that a Honda Cup hit into the car's door (driver's side) and someone had just flew through a backseat's window screen. The miracle was that, I was not hurt at all, although my car screen and backseat window's screen were shattered into pieces and the person who flew into my backseat only sustained a minor cut above his eyebrow.

The driver of the motorbike was not hurt at all. When he got up, first thing he asked me was "How much you are going to pay me?" rather than to check how his passenger friend was doing behind at my car seat. The young man got up and cursed him :"Told you not to speed!"

To cut the story short - my colleague and his wife came and sent me home.

I didn't go to work the next day. I slept in and was awakened by the same nightmare but this time was at 12 noon. The following nights, I had the same nightmare.

A friend helped to fix my car in 3 days. As usual, after work, I drove to the Hindu Temple and had my dinner before heading home. The next day was Saturday, 1/2 day's work and drove back to Malacca.

I still felt someone was following me all the times. I had the same nightmare in Malacca. I prayed at the altar and also went to the Hindu Temple in Gajah Berang where we used to live close by when we were kids.

Sometimes, I had strange dreams also. I dreamed the Elephant God called me to the temple in Malacca. So, I went and it was a religious festival of the Elephant God held in the temple.

When I drove back to Muar on Monday, I had another strange dream. I dreamt that I found a gold chain and the Hindu God told me to bring it to his wife, Latchmi.

Next morning, when I walked near the gate of the factory, I saw some gold-like thing sticking out of the red earth ground. I pulled it out and it was a gold-like long necklace with lots of pendants that embossed with a Hindu God figure.

When I returned to Malacca the following weekend, I went to the Hindu Temple in Malacca and told the Hindu priest about the dream I had and the gold chain that I found and gave to the priest.

After all these incidents, I found myself always being surrounded by uninvited problems and troubles. In my bed room in Malacca, I also felt there was an unclean spirit there. So, I decided to talk to it and said that, if you were the female spirit that lived in the banana tree near my bedrood, please tell me if I could help you. That night alone, I was awaken by a chill and saw a female white figure staring at me fiercely, a kind of an angry warning. Besides that, I always found bruise marks on my body.

Once my mom slept in my bedroom and when she woke up, she showed me her hand that had 2 puncture holes. She didn't know how these punture wounds came about.

One fine day, my eldest brother who is a Christian invited me over to Penang. I stayed with him and shared his Christian faith with me. That is when I first became a Believer. After the Baptism, I had never got that kind of nightmare anymore.

The only experience I had was, on the eve of my Baptism, I was strangled by an unknown figure till my body was half dangling outside the bed. The only thing I said to this strange figure was that "No matter what you do, I still will be baptised, tomorrow." I did.

A case for REINCARNATION?

Reincarnation
Today reincarnation is commonly believed in Hindhuism and Bhuddism but recent polls in the USA reveals 20-27% of the population believes in past lives. Scientific studies on reincarnation started in the sixties with Professor Ian Stevenson of the University of Virginia who studied many thousands of cases. Although there were many cases that convinced him, there were about 40 case studies that could possibly be highlighted to the strict standards of the scientific community.
"Stevenson believed the strongest cases he had collected in support of this model involved both testimony and physical evidence. In over 40 of these cases Stevenson gathered physical evidence relating to the often rare and unusual birthmarks and birth defects of children which he claimed matched wounds recorded in the medical or post-mortem records for the individual Stevenson identified as the past-life personality." [from Wikipedia]
Of course not everyone agrees with his conclusions. The following is reported on ABC television.

Nightmare on M street

A HAUNTED STREET? A true story by a reliable friend in Malacca

I was brought up believing in God, superstition, mediums and and so forth. Praying to God is important as a means to appease the dark forces.
It was the year 1961. I remember very well I was five years old when my family took a train from Seremban to Malacca. In Malacca my family rented a room from a baba { Chinese/Malay intermarriage offspring] family . In the rented room lived my parent, my eldest sister, myself , younger sister and my brother. Sometimes at night funny noises and scary sounds can be heard but my parents tried to be strong as if nothing happened. I am sure mom and dad just wanted to protect us from fear. Most of the time, my mother would go to the temple to seek blessings, protection and obtain talisman to paste the surroundings. By the way my sibling and I got to swallow lots of burnt talisman paper with drinking water . Suddenly, one fateful night my eldest sister and I were about to sleep then I saw some dark figures. There stood an elderly couple with two little kids at the window and their bodies were covered with hairs and they were staring at me. I remembered very well my sister saw it too and she was hugging me. Many years later when we became adults I related the ghostly incident to my sister and surprisingly, my sister remember it well. I am sure my parents got a difficult time encountering the unfriendly spirits, so we shifted altogether 3 times but still the same street. Long story cut short, there is no encounter what so ever until the 3rd shifting....my goodness, my goose pimples shoot up even today when I try to think about it. Our rented room was situated next to the school and again strange things were happening .Sometimes I can hear strange noises from the school. Then one night I heard the voice of an old lady calling out my neighbour son's name from the school, "Kam Seng..........", Kam Seng". Well, the old lady had already passed away not long ago.
My dad was not spared either. Sometimes out of nowhere he received a blueblack pinch mark in the thigh. Then my brother too was affected. One day my healthy brother suddenly developed a high fever and my dad sent him to hospital and sadly he passed away.We did not know whether he was allergic to pencillin jab or not but he was a healthy boy otherwise .Not long after the demise of my brother, I mysteriously woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to urinate but I could not stand up and everytime I tried I failed as my legs strangely did not have the strength. However I did not have any prior problems with my legs. Finally, I crawled to my mum and woke her up and told her but my mum thought that I was in the state of somnambulance [sleepwalking] and told me to go back to sleep . Next morning, not a joke, my right leg was longer than my left leg by 1 1/2 inches . Even now my hip retains a herbal bandage mark. Eventually, miracles do happen, one fine day my leg became normal by itself. My mum could not believe it and started to question me whether I got a fall or accidentally jerk my leg.
Later we discovered that a spot underneath the room that we had rented once was a big angsana tree whereby the coffee shop owner's daughter hung herself. So looks like it was her restless spirit. After this frightening incident we shifted to quite a distance away and we did not face any more strange encounters with spirits .

LRT Putra Line and earth spirit

Our first Malaysian psychic story posted in this blog!.

A true story by our friend Winson Tang on his construction work.

"In early 1996 I started a construction of a tunnel linking Masjid Jamek Station to Kampong Baru Station. At every station we needed a shaft to enable the TBM [tunnel boring machine] to reach and subsequently to hoist the TBM up by a crane.

Before that we have to construct an access shaft /well . In constructing the shaft we need to do bore piling to the perimeter of the shaft which is 9 meter wide and 13 meter depth[ TBM is 7-8M below ground]. When the bore piling started towards the shaft, the machine suddenly dropped dead after the first pile. So we thought maybe this machine is old. We then changed to a brand new bore piling machine. We tried many times but yet to a no avail. We were very puzzled. Somebody suggested maybe we were offending some earth spirits/spirit that are/is lord of the land. With the consent of the Japanese main contractor we consulted some mediums . Finally since this land was inhabited previously by malay families we engaged the services of a Bomoh [malay medium] . The bomoh told us that we have offended the spirit that controls the area . The Malay medium went to the surrounding and recited some prayers with water collected from tyre tracks. It took several hours. After that everything went smoothly. Our bore piling was a success."

Do you believe in mediums?

Gordon Smith, an English medium, talks to a couple whom he has never met before and relays messages from their dead son. Watch out for details of the information. If the story is true then we do not lose consciousness after we die,we continue in our memory, knowledge and feelings. Have an open mind watch this video inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNe9N7edXV8&eurl=http://www.victorzammit.com/week8/&feature=player

I have heard that there are some very accurate mediums in Malaysia but I have yet to meet one.

I have been abducted by aliens, says Japan's first lady
