Reincarnation
Today reincarnation is commonly believed in Hindhuism and Bhuddism but recent polls in the USA reveals 20-27% of the population believes in past lives. Scientific studies on reincarnation started in the sixties with Professor Ian Stevenson of the University of Virginia who studied many thousands of cases. Although there were many cases that convinced him, there were about 40 case studies that could possibly be highlighted to the strict standards of the scientific community.
"Stevenson believed the strongest cases he had collected in support of this model involved both testimony and physical evidence. In over 40 of these cases Stevenson gathered physical evidence relating to the often rare and unusual birthmarks and birth defects of children which he claimed matched wounds recorded in the medical or post-mortem records for the individual Stevenson identified as the past-life personality." Is there an afterlife?. Shall I be plucking the strings of my harp, singing hymns in heaven or or visiting the 18 levels in Hell?. What is the meaning of it all?. To know something of the beyond is a gain in our search for the significance of man.
