Welcome

This is a place about the other consciousness. This is the realm we sense magic and mystery. Spirits, ghosts, guardian angels, UFOs, hauntings , near-death experiences , out-of-body experiences, clairvoyance, telepathy, remote viewing , mediums, EVP [electronic voice phenomenon], reincarnations and any psychic phenomenon.

There is as much an unquenchable thirst and passion about the other worlds as there are skeptics equally fiery in debunking the unexplained and supernatural. But it is one thing to talk about it and an another to experience it . Even to hear from someone trustworthy relating their encounter can send shivers down the spine or create waves of deep peace and joy in our hearts.

"What's it all about, Alfie?", as the song goes. Ultimately all quests to understand the other realities betray a yearning to fathom the mystery of life itself. What will we be after we die?. Is there an afterlife?. Shall I be plucking the strings of my harp, singing hymns in heaven or or visiting the 18 levels in Hell?. What is the meaning of it all?. To know something of the beyond is a gain in our search for the significance of man.

This blog hopes to gather truthful anecdotes from credible witnesses starting from the people in Malaysia with its varied religious diversity. But everyone from anywhere is invited. And I also welcome opinions and beliefs from skeptics and fans alike.

I hope you can share with everyone your experience and conviction of the other dimensions.

Another celebrity sees apparition

Actor Patrick Stewart has reported seeing a ghost in one of Britain's most haunted theatres during a performance of Waiting for Godot with Sir Ian McKellen. Patrick described the apparition as a man wearing a beige coat and twill trousers.

Friends believe he saw the ghost of John Baldwin Buckstone, who was actor-manager of the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the mid 19th century and a friend of Charles Dickens. Many believe his ghost haunts this theatre till present day.

The search for aliens

It is interesting to note that Paul Allen the founder of Microsoft, donated 16 million Sterling to Seti.

Scientists have been searching for aliens for 50 years
Rex
Scientists have been searching for aliens for 50 years

1. Seti stands for the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence.
2. If intelligent aliens are out there, Dr Seth Shostak, the Seti Institute's senior astronomer, believes they will be "thinking machines". He believes a highly advanced species will be several centuries ahead of us in technological development.
3. Professor Duncan Forgan, an astronomer from Edinburgh University, estimates that between 360 and 38,000 life forms capable of interstellar communications have evolved at some point in the history of our galaxy.
4. In April 2006, Dr Shostak predicted we would find evidence of extraterrestrial life between 2020 and 2025. He believes the best way of bringing them up to speed with the human race is to send them the contents of the internet.
5. So far, no alien signals have been heard, however.
6. It was a September 1959 article in the journal Nature that persuaded the scientific community that, despite the unlikely aliens found in the era's Cold War-inspired UFO films, alien intelligence was more likely than not, so kick-starting the Seti project.
7. The search proper began in 1960, however, with "Project Ozma" at the Green Bank radio telescope in West Virginia, America, directed by a Harvard graduate, Frank Drake.
8. Project Ozma was named after the queen of L Frank Baum's fictional land of Oz, a place which is "very far away, difficult to reach, and populated by strange and exotic beings".
9. The Microsoft founder Paul Allen is funding 42 radio antennae – the Allen Telescope Array in California – at a cost of £16m for the Seti project. It powered up this month.
10. When complete, the Allen Telescope Array will have 350 antenna dishes, each six metres in diameter.
11. At the moment, scientists scavenge time on the world's biggest telescopes to hunt for signals. One of the most significant is the Arecibo Observatory radio telescope in Puerto Rico, made famous by Pierce Brosnan in the final sequence of the James Bond film Golden Eye. It's the world's biggest with a 305m diameter.
12. The most promising radio signal found to date, SHGb02+14a, was detected in 2003 at Arecibo. It was found on three occasions but emanates from between the constellations of Pisces and Aries where there are no stars. It is also a very weak signal. Scientists think it may have been due to an astrological phenomenon or a computer glitch.
13. A set of quickly pulsing signals known as LGM1 (Little Green Men) caused great excitement in 1967. It turned out that they were from a previously unknown class of super-dense rotating neutron stars now known as pulsars. The discovery won Tony Hewish, emeritus professor of radio astronomy at Cambridge University, a Nobel prize.
14. While radio telescopes on Earth are tuned into frequencies that scientists believe are the most likely to be used by intelligent life, there have been many attempts to contact aliens by sending signals and objects from Earth to likely-looking stars.
15. In 1974, astronomers sent crude pictures of humans, our DNA and our solar system to the star cluster M13, which is 21,000 light years away and contains a third of a million stars.
16. In 2001 a "reply" to the 1974 message was found in Hampshire in the form of a crop circle, featuring crude pictures of an alien, modified DNA and an improbable solar system. It is believed to be a hoax.
17. Nasa's attempt to communicate with aliens by playing a Beatles track in February 2008 caused consternation. Some scientists pointed out that making a highly advanced race, which might have exhausted all the resources on their planet, aware of our existence might not be the most sensible thing to do.
18. Now an international agreement is in place preventing any reply to an extraterrestrial signal unless there is agreement that it's a good idea.
19. However, if Einstein's theory is correct that it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, there is no need to worry. It would take extraterrestrial life-forms millennia to reach us, unless they had the technology to cut corners in space by travelling through highly theoretical tunnels called wormholes. "You're not going to see them in person, I think," Dr Shostak said. "To go from here to the nearest star is a project requiring a 100,000-year trip. And that's longer than you're going to want to sit there eating airline food."
20. But maybe they do have wormhole technology. See No 2.
21. The nearest stars likely to have planets are three parsecs away (one parsec equals 3.26 light years, or 19 million million miles) so even if a common language were found, it would take a century to communicate.
22. Seti hit the headlines in 1977 when a volunteer found a strong signal and wrote "Wow!" in the margin of a printout. The "Wow! Signal", as it came to be known, was never found again despite repeated attempts.
23. Frank Drake's Ozma project was originally kept secret as the observatory was government-funded and nobody wanted to let Congress know they were looking for aliens.
24. Nevertheless, Congress pulled the plug in 1993. The project is now funded by private donations.
25. Five million people have joined a scheme organised by the University of California in 1999 in which home computers help sift the millions of Seti readings during their "downtime" after a special screensaver is downloaded. SETI@home is the world's largest supercomputer.
26. SETI@home can do tens to hundreds of billions of operations per second.
27. There are now lots of group-computing projects using the same software as SETI@home, from decoding enigma messages sent in the Second World War to predicting future climates or helping to find a cure for Aids.
28. Searches for other-worldly intelligence also involve looking for signals aliens may have sent us using light waves or infrared as well as radio waves.
29. The Drake equation (N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL) was created by Frank Drake in 1961 to work out how many intelligent civilisations there may be in our galaxy. The values stand for things such as the number of stars and estimated number of planets. The answer varies from 2.31 to 1,000, as many of the values rely on guesswork.
30. Gene Roddenberry used the equation to justify the number of inhabited planets discovered by the crew of the Starship Enterprise in Star Trek.
31. Scientists admit, however, that aliens may already have tried to contact us with a form of communication completely unknown to us – a bit like trying to make contact with a lost tribe in Borneo using TV signals.
32. In 1950, Italian Nobel laureate and nuclear scientist Enrico Fermi stated the Fermi paradox: there's a high probability of alien life but we haven't detected any yet.
33. In the mid-1990s, Seti scientists thought they were on to something when they picked up a signal every evening at 7pm. It turned out to be from a microwave oven used by technicians in the cellar at the Parkes Observatory in Australia. There is now a note on the microwave asking people not to use it while Seti is active.
34. Other false calls have included signals from electronic garage doors, jet airliners, radios, televisions and even the Pioneer space craft. "We found intelligent life," said Richard Davis, a radio astronomer at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, "but it was us."
35. The privately funded Seti Institute in California has an annual budget of $7m. It employs 130 staff and was founded 25 years ago in November.
36. The MoD recorded 394 UFO sightings in the UK in the first eight months of this year.
37. In 1996 only six exoplanets – those outside our solar system – had been found. Now nearly 400 have been discovered. Although none are Earth-like, scientists believe it is just a matter of time before one shows up.
38. Which is why Nasa launched the Kepler telescope in March. It will survey 100,000 Sun-like stars over the next four years, looking for Earth-like planets in the "Goldilocks Zone" – a distance from the Sun that is not too hot and not too cold.
39. Some think early flying saucer stories originated from spottings of experimental Nazi aircraft.
40. In June this year, Seti upgraded its Serendip (Search for Extraterrestrial Radio Emissions from Nearby Developed Intelligent Populations) programme at Arecibo. The first programme listened to 100 channels simultaneously, the new programme can track more than two billion.
41. ET and Close Encounters director Steven Spielberg has been obsessed with the search for life outside our planet since childhood and donates money to Seti.
42. llie Arroway, Jodie Foster's character in the film Contact, finds aliens using the same methods as a Seti radio-wave analysing programme Project Phoenix based in Australia.
43. Those hopeful of so-called "exo-biology" have been encouraged by recent discoveries of the building blocks of life floating around in space. Radio telescopes have picked up the chemical signatures of 150 molecules in interstellar space, including sugar, alcohol and amino acids.
44. The twin Voyager space probes, launched in 1977, carried gold discs containing information about Earth, including recordings of greetings in 54 different human languages, humpback whale song, 117 pictures of Earth and a collection of sounds including music from Mozart to Louis Armstrong. The discs were put together by the Seti advocate Carl Sagan at the request of Nasa. It will be 40,000 years before the discs get anywhere near another planetary system.
45. If aliens do find them, they will need to locate an old vinyl record player. Fortunately, there are instructions and a stylus on the spaceship.
46. In the 1820s the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, below, tried to contact aliens by reflecting sunlight towards planets. He also wanted to cut a giant triangle into the Siberian forest and plant wheat inside to show a geometric object visible from the Moon.
47. Around the same time, the Austrian mathematician Joseph Johann von Littrow proposed digging a circular canal in the Sahara 20 miles in diameter, filling it with paraffin and setting it on fire, thus alerting alien species to our existence.
48. Charles Cros, a French poet and inventor, thought spots of light on Mars and Venus were indicators of civilisations. He tried to convince the French government to build a giant mirror to communicate with the aliens. The lights he saw were probably noctilucent clouds (clouds so high they reflect sunlight at night); the mirror was almost certainly impossible to build.
49. Japan has prepared guidelines on how to handle aliens if they land and a strategy to defend the country from alien attack.
50. Early alien hunters at the 1960 conference at Green Bank, West Virginia, which established Seti as a scientific discipline, called themselves the Order of the Dolphin in honour of John Lilly, who had recently concluded that dolphins were intelligent and pioneered attempts to communicate with them.

Lost in another world

In the early 90's, I was working as a Fashion Designer in Muar. I used to drive to work from Malacca to Muar everyday until I found a place to stay with a young Christian couple.

After work, I normally drove to a Hindu Temple in town, to pray and had my dinner before going home. The town centre is about 3km away from where I stayed.

One evening, after having my dinner in town, I drove home as usual. While passing a certain spot, I saw a small white shadow passing across the road, right in front of me. I heard a small noise "Tick" and I thought I hit a white cat. I didn't stop to check because that stretch of road was dark. Then I started to wonder :"If I hit a cat, it could have miowed loudly, no?" But there wasn't any noise other than that sound "Tick".

Anyway, while driving, I felt a bit uncomfortable as if someone was behind the seat, a kind of eerie feeling.

Then, I began to realize that the roads which I used each evening looked different. No street lights, no houses nor any buildings in sight, just pitch dark. I wanted to stop and turn back but my hand would not move and I kept driving and felt that I was under control by something. I also felt that I had been driving for a long, long time.

At a distance, I saw some lanterns hanging outside one building. I challenged myself to sway my steering to the left toward that building. I succeeded and stopped in front of it. It was a restaurant and the owner was about to shut the door. I asked her: "Can you please let me know where I am? I want to go back to the xxxx area where I live."

The lady told me:"My God! You are 15km away from where you live."

I took my car and managed to drive home, though I still felt as if someone was watching me from the backseat. I finally reached home but was not in peace because I felt that as if that "someone" was following me where ever I went.

I watched a bit of TV and went to bed. That night, I was awakened by a terrible nightmare. I didn't know if it was a dream or reality. I saw a half-naked dark skinned man without his head was trying to possess me. I got up and turned on the light and not too long after that, it was sunrise.

I then went to work as usual, had my prayers at the Hindu Temple and packed "wonton noodles" home for dinner. When I was at a junction just outside town centre, I looked very carefully before I made a left turn. So, when I began to turn my car, I saw big spot light coming from the right touching my right cheek and the only words that I said to myself :"I am dead, this time."

The next thing I knew is that a Honda Cup hit into the car's door (driver's side) and someone had just flew through a backseat's window screen. The miracle was that, I was not hurt at all, although my car screen and backseat window's screen were shattered into pieces and the person who flew into my backseat only sustained a minor cut above his eyebrow.

The driver of the motorbike was not hurt at all. When he got up, first thing he asked me was "How much you are going to pay me?" rather than to check how his passenger friend was doing behind at my car seat. The young man got up and cursed him :"Told you not to speed!"

To cut the story short - my colleague and his wife came and sent me home.

I didn't go to work the next day. I slept in and was awakened by the same nightmare but this time was at 12 noon. The following nights, I had the same nightmare.

A friend helped to fix my car in 3 days. As usual, after work, I drove to the Hindu Temple and had my dinner before heading home. The next day was Saturday, 1/2 day's work and drove back to Malacca.

I still felt someone was following me all the times. I had the same nightmare in Malacca. I prayed at the altar and also went to the Hindu Temple in Gajah Berang where we used to live close by when we were kids.

Sometimes, I had strange dreams also. I dreamed the Elephant God called me to the temple in Malacca. So, I went and it was a religious festival of the Elephant God held in the temple.

When I drove back to Muar on Monday, I had another strange dream. I dreamt that I found a gold chain and the Hindu God told me to bring it to his wife, Latchmi.

Next morning, when I walked near the gate of the factory, I saw some gold-like thing sticking out of the red earth ground. I pulled it out and it was a gold-like long necklace with lots of pendants that embossed with a Hindu God figure.

When I returned to Malacca the following weekend, I went to the Hindu Temple in Malacca and told the Hindu priest about the dream I had and the gold chain that I found and gave to the priest.

After all these incidents, I found myself always being surrounded by uninvited problems and troubles. In my bed room in Malacca, I also felt there was an unclean spirit there. So, I decided to talk to it and said that, if you were the female spirit that lived in the banana tree near my bedrood, please tell me if I could help you. That night alone, I was awaken by a chill and saw a female white figure staring at me fiercely, a kind of an angry warning. Besides that, I always found bruise marks on my body.

Once my mom slept in my bedroom and when she woke up, she showed me her hand that had 2 puncture holes. She didn't know how these punture wounds came about.

One fine day, my eldest brother who is a Christian invited me over to Penang. I stayed with him and shared his Christian faith with me. That is when I first became a Believer. After the Baptism, I had never got that kind of nightmare anymore.

The only experience I had was, on the eve of my Baptism, I was strangled by an unknown figure till my body was half dangling outside the bed. The only thing I said to this strange figure was that "No matter what you do, I still will be baptised, tomorrow." I did.

A case for REINCARNATION?

Reincarnation
Today reincarnation is commonly believed in Hindhuism and Bhuddism but recent polls in the USA reveals 20-27% of the population believes in past lives. Scientific studies on reincarnation started in the sixties with Professor Ian Stevenson of the University of Virginia who studied many thousands of cases. Although there were many cases that convinced him, there were about 40 case studies that could possibly be highlighted to the strict standards of the scientific community.
"Stevenson believed the strongest cases he had collected in support of this model involved both testimony and physical evidence. In over 40 of these cases Stevenson gathered physical evidence relating to the often rare and unusual birthmarks and birth defects of children which he claimed matched wounds recorded in the medical or post-mortem records for the individual Stevenson identified as the past-life personality." [from Wikipedia]
Of course not everyone agrees with his conclusions. The following is reported on ABC television.
You make your own judgement.

Nightmare on M street

A HAUNTED STREET? A true story by a reliable friend in Malacca

I was brought up believing in God, superstition, mediums and and so forth. Praying to God is important as a means to appease the dark forces.
It was the year 1961. I remember very well I was five years old when my family took a train from Seremban to Malacca. In Malacca my family rented a room from a baba { Chinese/Malay intermarriage offspring] family . In the rented room lived my parent, my eldest sister, myself , younger sister and my brother. Sometimes at night funny noises and scary sounds can be heard but my parents tried to be strong as if nothing happened. I am sure mom and dad just wanted to protect us from fear. Most of the time, my mother would go to the temple to seek blessings, protection and obtain talisman to paste the surroundings. By the way my sibling and I got to swallow lots of burnt talisman paper with drinking water . Suddenly, one fateful night my eldest sister and I were about to sleep then I saw some dark figures. There stood an elderly couple with two little kids at the window and their bodies were covered with hairs and they were staring at me. I remembered very well my sister saw it too and she was hugging me. Many years later when we became adults I related the ghostly incident to my sister and surprisingly, my sister remember it well. I am sure my parents got a difficult time encountering the unfriendly spirits, so we shifted altogether 3 times but still the same street. Long story cut short, there is no encounter what so ever until the 3rd shifting....my goodness, my goose pimples shoot up even today when I try to think about it. Our rented room was situated next to the school and again strange things were happening .Sometimes I can hear strange noises from the school. Then one night I heard the voice of an old lady calling out my neighbour son's name from the school, "Kam Seng..........", Kam Seng". Well, the old lady had already passed away not long ago.
My dad was not spared either. Sometimes out of nowhere he received a blueblack pinch mark in the thigh. Then my brother too was affected. One day my healthy brother suddenly developed a high fever and my dad sent him to hospital and sadly he passed away.We did not know whether he was allergic to pencillin jab or not but he was a healthy boy otherwise .Not long after the demise of my brother, I mysteriously woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to urinate but I could not stand up and everytime I tried I failed as my legs strangely did not have the strength. However I did not have any prior problems with my legs. Finally, I crawled to my mum and woke her up and told her but my mum thought that I was in the state of somnambulance [sleepwalking] and told me to go back to sleep . Next morning, not a joke, my right leg was longer than my left leg by 1 1/2 inches . Even now my hip retains a herbal bandage mark. Eventually, miracles do happen, one fine day my leg became normal by itself. My mum could not believe it and started to question me whether I got a fall or accidentally jerk my leg.
Later we discovered that a spot underneath the room that we had rented once was a big angsana tree whereby the coffee shop owner's daughter hung herself. So looks like it was her restless spirit. After this frightening incident we shifted to quite a distance away and we did not face any more strange encounters with spirits .

LRT Putra Line and earth spirit

Our first Malaysian psychic story posted in this blog!.

A true story by our friend Winson Tang on his construction work.

"In early 1996 I started a construction of a tunnel linking Masjid Jamek Station to Kampong Baru Station. At every station we needed a shaft to enable the TBM [tunnel boring machine] to reach and subsequently to hoist the TBM up by a crane.

Before that we have to construct an access shaft /well . In constructing the shaft we need to do bore piling to the perimeter of the shaft which is 9 meter wide and 13 meter depth[ TBM is 7-8M below ground]. When the bore piling started towards the shaft, the machine suddenly dropped dead after the first pile. So we thought maybe this machine is old. We then changed to a brand new bore piling machine. We tried many times but yet to a no avail. We were very puzzled. Somebody suggested maybe we were offending some earth spirits/spirit that are/is lord of the land. With the consent of the Japanese main contractor we consulted some mediums . Finally since this land was inhabited previously by malay families we engaged the services of a Bomoh [malay medium] . The bomoh told us that we have offended the spirit that controls the area . The Malay medium went to the surrounding and recited some prayers with water collected from tyre tracks. It took several hours. After that everything went smoothly. Our bore piling was a success."

Do you believe in mediums?

Gordon Smith, an English medium, talks to a couple whom he has never met before and relays messages from their dead son. Watch out for details of the information. If the story is true then we do not lose consciousness after we die,we continue in our memory, knowledge and feelings. Have an open mind watch this video inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNe9N7edXV8&eurl=http://www.victorzammit.com/week8/&feature=player

I have heard that there are some very accurate mediums in Malaysia but I have yet to meet one.
